Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2025
UNDER-GRADUATE PROGRAMME (Five Year Integrated Law Degree)
- Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed in 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of:
- (i) Forty Five percent (45%) of marks or its equivalent grade or
- (ii) Forty percent (40%) of marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in March / April, 2025, are also eligible to apply.
POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMME (One Year LL.M. Degree)
- Educational Qualification: An LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of:
- (i) Fifty percent (50%) of marks or its equivalent grade or
- (ii) Forty five percent (45%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwDcategories.
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April / May, 2025, are also eligible to apply.
Application Fee
Online Application Fee For Both UG and PG Programmes: (i) Rs. 4,000/- (ii) Rs. 3,500/- for SC/ST/PwD/BPL candidates
Documents to be Uploaded with the Online Application
- Passport Size Photograph: Front-facing, recent, with a plain background.
- Signature: Signature of the candidate.
- Category Certificate: Required if applying under SC/ST/OBC.
- Disability Certificate: Relevant certificate issued by a competent authority if the candidate is P.W.D.
- BPL Certificate: Relevant certificate issued by a competent authority if the candidate is under the BPL category.

Introduction and Overview
The UG-CLAT 2024 focuses on evaluating candidates’ comprehension and reasoning skills. It is a 2-hour test with 120 multiple-choice questions, each worth 1 mark, with a 0.25 mark penalty for wrong answers. The questions cover five subjects:
1. English Language
- Passages of about 450 words from fiction and non-fiction.
- Questions test comprehension, inference, summarization, comparison, and vocabulary.
2. Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
- Passages of up to 450 words from news and journalistic sources.
- Questions test awareness of contemporary events, arts, culture, international affairs, and historical events.
3. Legal Reasoning
- Passages related to legal matters, public policy, or moral philosophy.
- Questions test identification and application of rules and principles to fact situations.
4. Logical Reasoning
- Short passages of about 450 words.
- Questions test recognition of arguments, analysis of reasoning patterns, drawing inferences, and evaluating arguments.
5. Quantitative Techniques
- Sets of facts or numerical information.
- Questions require deriving and manipulating numerical information and applying 10th standard mathematical operations.

Introduction and Overview
The PG-CLAT 2024 focuses on the comprehension abilities of students. It is a 120-minute exam with one section:
Objective Section: This section includes 120 objective-type questions, each carrying 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The questions are based on mandatory subjects from the undergraduate law program, including:
