CBSE Merit Scholarship 2024 :Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) provides the Single Girl Child Scholarship to meritorious girl students who are the only child of their parents. Eligible candidates can apply for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2024 (Fresh Application) or renew their existing scholarship from 2023 through CBSE’s online scholarship portal.

Eligibility Criteria

For Fresh Application (AY 2023-24):

  1. Must be a single girl child who passed Class X from a CBSE-affiliated school.
  2. Pursuing education in Class XI and XII in a CBSE-affiliated school.
  3. Scored 70% or more marks in the first five subjects in Class X.
  4. Tuition fee:
    • Class X: Not exceeding ₹2,500 per month.
    • Class XI & XII: Not exceeding ₹3,000 per month.
  5. The scholarship is open to Indian Nationals only.
  6. NRI applicants are eligible, with tuition fees not exceeding ₹6,000 per month.
  7. Scholars can avail other concessions provided by their schools while receiving the scholarship.

For Renewal Application (2023 Scholarship):

  1. Must have been awarded the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023.
  2. Currently pursuing Class XII in a CBSE-affiliated school.
  3. Scored 50% or more marks in Class XI and successfully promoted to Class XII.
  4. Tuition fee:
    • Class X: Not exceeding ₹1,500 per month.
    • Class XI & XII: Allowed a 10% enhancement over Class X tuition fee.
  5. The scholarship is open to Indian Nationals only.
  6. NRI applicants are eligible, with tuition fees not exceeding ₹6,000 per month.
  7. Scholars can avail other concessions provided by their schools while receiving the scholarship.

Scholarship Amount

  • ₹1,000 per month, paid directly to the student’s bank account through ECS/NEFT.

  1. First Quarterly Fee Slip
  2. Income Certificate
  3. Photograph
  4. First Page of Bank Passbook (for account details)
  5. Class X Marksheet (issued by CBSE).
  6. Affidavit/Declaration stating the applicant is a single girl child.
  7. School Verification Form (to be completed by the school).
  8. For renewal: Previous year’s scholarship award letter.
