Pragati Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The PRAGATI Scholarship has separate eligibility rules for Undergraduate (UG) and Diploma students.
For Undergraduate (UG) Students
- The girl candidate should be admitted to the 1st year of a degree-level course OR 2nd year through lateral entry at any AICTE-approved institution.
- Maximum two girl children per family can avail this scholarship.
- Family income from all sources should not exceed ₹8 lakh per annum during the current financial year. A valid income certificate issued by the State/UT Government is mandatory.
For Diploma Students
- The girl candidate should be admitted to the 1st year of a diploma-level course OR 2nd year through lateral entry in an AICTE-approved institution.
- Maximum two girl children per family are eligible.
- The family income limit is ₹8 lakh per annum, and a valid income certificate must be uploaded at the time of application.
Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amount under the PRAGATI scheme is provided as a lump sum of ₹50,000 per annum. This amount is meant to cover expenses such as:
- Tuition and college fees
- Purchase of computers/laptops
- Books and stationery
- Educational software and equipment
No separate allowance will be given for hostel or medical expenses.
Duration of Scholarship
- Undergraduate (UG) Students: Up to 4 years for first-year admissions and up to 3 years for students admitted through lateral entry.
- Diploma Students: Up to 3 years for first-year admissions and up to 2 years for students admitted through lateral entry.
Importantly, students do not need to provide separate bills or receipts for expenditure to claim the scholarship benefits.
Selection Criteria
The selection process is based purely on merit in the qualifying examination.
- Diploma Students: Selection will be based on marks obtained in the 10th / equivalent examination.
- Undergraduate Students: Selection will be based on marks obtained in the 10+2 / equivalent examination.
Renewal Process
The PRAGATI Scholarship is renewable each year subject to satisfactory academic performance.
- Renewal applications must be submitted through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
- Students are required to upload their passing certificate/marksheet along with a letter from the Head of Institution.
- If a student fails to get promoted to the next academic year, the scholarship will be forfeited.
